Take a joyful bicycle ride through the community forest that only exists thanks to the villagers’ collective efforts. Search the forest for mushrooms, the wet season delicacy, before riding a farm tractor cart to many integrated farms and taste some of Kanchanaburi’s secret recipes.

Here, the coniferous forest is interlaced with plantations growing temperate plants, including macadamia, plums, grapes and Shiitake mushrooms. This is the heart of Phu Ruea area where Loei’s true prosperity lies.

This community grows exceptional santols, but are better known for their god-tier basketry. Although they inherit great skills and designs from past generations, what keeps them at the forefront of this art is their innovative ideas they never cease developing.

This tiny village placed between the Mae Sat and Mae Kon creeks decided to stop using chemicals and start focusing on supplying their community with quality organic produce. They ended up becoming a model for water source conservation.
